Punggol Waterfront

My Waterway@Punggol

Punggol Waterfront is a new area in the north crafted out for recreation. Not only it offers playgrounds for little kids, it also hosts long stretches of paths for cyclist.

Personally, the best part of Punggol Waterfront is certainly its connectivity, because it has a bridge connecting the usually unpassable waterbody-Sungei Serangoon

Cloudy waterway
At Punggol waterfront, you can do whatever you would imagine you could do at a park be it picnic, having a recreational cycle of just walking down the pathways with your family.
One interesting observation about this place is that it is hard to get across the waterway till you find a bridge. so Good Luck!

The biggest turnoff for this place is definitely its location for it is located far north.
Punggol Waterfront is also connected via a park connector to Punggol Point and Corney island(which you currently have to climb over a fence to enter). That said, an old man was telling me that now it is easier to climb to Corney Island(Serangoon island) via Punggol rather then Pasir Ris. Better do it now before it develops!

However, it is quite sad to see that Punggol Waterfront(though only recently constructed) is now surrounded by construction.
Punggol waterfront gives connectivity all the way from Pasir Ris, to Punggol Point and Pulau Punggol Timor, Punggol Point in my opinion gives leisure cyclists a good expressway to get to Yishun from Pasir Ris. However, please be careful when cycling on Pulau Punggol Timor and Pulau Punggol Barat due to large numbers of heavy vehicles!

HOW TO GET TO PUNGGOL WATERFRONT

Drive: Parking spaces are available at the waterfront it self.
If you are considering to go to Punggol Point, there is parking at Punggol Point itself too, though limited.
BUS: Bus 84 from Punggol Bus interchange. Gets you straight up till Punggol Point!
Cycling: Anywhere from Punggol Park Connector or Punggol Road.
If you are an East side warrior, you may come by Lor Halus and subsequently Pasir Ris Farmway 3.
The roads is well shown in streetdirectory.com

Cycling is really recommended as Punggol Point links many places together! That said, you will be able to explore the vast area much better whilst on a bicycle. Not to mention the rustic Track 24 off Punggol Road!
