Green Corridor (Sugei Kadut to Bukit Panjang)

The Green Corridor, where once the tracks linking Singapore and Malaysia Stood

The Green Corridor is probably one of the more documented green place in Singapore. More info can be referred to at : http://www.thegreencorridor.org/

They even did up a high res map at
http://www.thegreencorridor.org/wp-content/uploads/downloads/2011/07/Overview-Map-of-Railway.jpg

So basically, long story short, the green corridor was where the once KTM track was. The tracks transported tons of people between Malaysia and Singapore since the British colonised Malaya.

With the tracks now gone, it has become a trial of green for hikers, trekkers and enthusiasts!

Below are some of the pictures I took!

Walk along the MRT track from Kranji MRT station to reach the Green Corridor!
To get into the Green Corridor from Kranji MRT station, we followed the MRT track (towards Jurong East) till we got into the Green Corridor area!  Though it was unpaved, it was clearly well maintaned and many people use this "path".

A bridge leading to nowhere (Sugei Kadut Ave to Woodlands Rd section)
No wonder they called it the green corridor! True to its name!
Probably the remains of the old station which once stood along side the train tracks
(Stretch of Sugei Kadut) If Im not wrong this is near Stagmont Ring Road

Informal Economy in SG! Make Shift barber for blue collared Foreign Workers in SG (I believe this is at the Sungei Kadut area)

All in all, you should visit the Green Corridor before it is redevloped.

Once again, the Map can be seen here!

And the awesome organisation that did up so much info on the green corridor can be found here:

Remember to bring lots of water and a cap when doing the green corridor!
