ECP last Boatel |
Had a recent visit to the last boatel in ECP. Previously went there in 2016 and recently again. The most recent visit saw fences and guard posts already being constructed. So guess is that we will not be able to visit this boatel again due to the security (like at Jenal Jetty where fences has been placed up)
As of 2018, this place housed 35 registered boats owned by fishermen (https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/living-city-last-fishermen-on-singapores-east-coast)
Previously having 4 boatels in ECP, now, all has been consolidated into one.

Taken also in 2016. |
From the pictures above taken during my visit awhile back, we can see the boatel is not fenced up, the shed where the boat owners can keep their barang and also the square "boxes" on the right, which are actually pulleys that help to haul up the boat from the beach after the boat is being placed on the boat trolley.
The rest of the photos below are taken in Dec 2020.
Construction around the Boatel |

Ready to move out anytime |
Sheds for barang barang. Security fences already built |
The boatel is located near ECP area B near carpark B1. It would be difficult to visit once the area is fully cordoned.
Current location 1.294865, 103.897562
