Sembawang Beach and Settlement

Sembawang Beach

As I was sick, my boss allowed me to rest at home till Monday. What better medicine then to go to the outdoors! So after visiting our new warehoue at Gambas, I decided to make a trip to the old Sembawang Settlement and Sembawang Beach!

I will first write about the yet to be developed Sembawang Settlement and then segway into Sembawang Beach.

First off! Our Area of Operations: 
The yet to be developed Jalan Mempurong and
Masjid Petempatan Melayu Sembawang

Coordinates: 1.458995, 103.841806

Undeveloped Roads: Jalan Mempurong and Selimang

As you can see from the above, the roads remain "undeveloped" and look totally incongruous  with the Terrace Houses along Andrew's Avenue. Probably one of the last few places to find roads like that in Singapore!

Moving in, there is an old Kampung Mosque. Really rare in SG! (you can read more about the Mosque here): (https://thelongnwindingroad.wordpress.com/tag/masjid-petempatan-melayu-sembawang/)

Lucily it was Friday during noon time, so despite the "rural and ulu area", it was crowded with Mosque goers!

Walking ahead from the Masjid, I found Sembawang Beach with all its splendor. Unntouched, it lies in its natural state. I'll let the pictures speak for itself :)

Well, not totally untouched. Here, be careful where you walk as there seem to have many people doing prayers here with many Joss Sticks here with candles still lighted. So probably this place is frequented by a few faithfuls.

So walking eastwards, there is a grass pathway that leads to Sembawang Water Venture!

Sembawang Water Venture

Area to campfire and chill!

\Sugei Simpang, no crossing!

So here all the way next to Sungei Simpang Kiri, there is a small area where people can rest and even do a campfire! probably those outdoor-ish people who work at Sembawang Water Venture sometimes hang out here.

This area is directly opposite Simpang which is seperated from here by Sugei Sembawang. As most army people may know, Simpang is an army training ground.

That's it, come here before it redevelops! Seeing SG sooner then never!
