Pasir Ris Intertidal

Yesterday on 15 Nov 20, it was New Moon. Even though it was raining heavily, I could not resist the allure of visiting the shores of Pasir Ris Park during low Spring Tide. Tide tables showed tides were at 0.4m. Perfect.

Area that we walked

After consulting the nautical chart on Navionics, we decided on the area between Sungei Tampines and Sungei Loyang. The area nearer to Sungei Tampines has more mangroves and slowing moving eastwards, the mangrove got less until we arrived near Loyang Beacon at the East where the number of mangroves increased again. This could be due to the nature of the land reclamation done in Pasir Ris.

Lots of Seagrass during lowtide

This area of Pasir Ris proved to be muddy bottom. Sank into the mud a few times

If you intend to intertidal, be prepared to sink into the mud and have difficulty coming out!

Near area of Loyang River. Dogs love to hang out here!

If you intend to go during  low tide, please take notice that it can be quite rocky. Shoes are a must for safety. In addition, due to nature of muddy bottom, one may sink deep into the mud.
