Jurong Fishery Port

And it was 1am when we reached Jurong Fishery Port to take a look at what's here. Apparently many of my friends have been here before and I must have been so suaku to not go!

So basically tucked in the south of Singapore at Fishery Port Road is Jurong Fishery Port where you can find the freshest catch. Opened only during the wee hours of the morning (1am-4am), you have to skip sleep to come here.

Upon walking into the Fishery Port

Busy day where Fishermen unload their catch!

Huge fishes all on the ground

The sight upon entering is very unlike any market you'll find in Singapore. Instead, what you get here is like what you see overseas with huge fishes on the ground so fresh that your clothes will have a lingering smell. Here, you will be able to get the freshest catch. The fish that you see in the picture above is as long as my entire am to my hand!

According to AVA website: "JFP serves as a docking and bunkering base for foreign fishing vessels operating in the Indian and Pacific Ocean. It is also a marketing and distribution centre for fresh fish."

The market is huge, although I dident have time to spend here, I reckon I could spend up to 1.5 hrs here!

Will definitely be coming back again.

Apparently, this port is going to be refurbished. So better visit it before it redevelops. Oh, and one more thing, you must have either your passport or IC to enter (Driving license or any other forms of ID is not accepted).

If you are in the North, don't worry, AVA has another fishing port in the north at Senoko called Senoko Fishery Port. Will be there soon too!
